The most senior family judge in England and Wales told Victoria Derbyshire the idea that judges favour women in custody battles is wrong, but that in the vast majority of cases the mother IS best placed to look after the child. Sir Nicholas Wall also said parents separating underestimate how stressful the family court system is.
