February marked the 40th anniversary of the Iranian revolution, a time of fundamental change for Iran. Women had played a significant role in the revolution but in the aftermath and the ensuing years, they saw their rights and position in society restricted. In a special episode for International Women’s Day, this week’s Music Planet Road Trip comes via Persian singer and advocate for freedom of musical expression, Mahsa Vahdat.
