The court hears from passengers who tried to protect others and who were attacked by 33-year-old Anthony Williams on the train that was heading to London Kings Cross on Saturday 1st November 2025.

One passenger told the court he remembers there was a lot of noise and someone burst through the carriage door saying: “Everyone run, run ....there’s a guy with a knife, a guy stabbing people.”

BBC Cambridgeshire’s Phil Shepka and BBC Journalist Luke de Costa bring you updates of what the jury hears as the trial at Cambridge Crown Court unfolds.

Williams denies 14 counts of attempted murder. 10 counts of attempted murder during an attack on a train that was forced to make an emergency stop in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire. One count of attempted murder over an incident at a metro station in London on the same day and three counts of attempted murder the day before in Peterborough.

The trial has been told that whether Williams carried out the attacks is not in question, but jurors must consider whether he intended to kill those individuals.
