Shortwave Listening Log

We have been listening to shortwave radio for more years than we care to mention.

As broadcast stations closed, we moved towards listing amateur, marine, search and rescue, aeronautical and some military frequencies still operating on HF.

Note that lower frequencies tend to be better during the hours of darkness and higher frequencies perform best in the daylight hours.

Reception is also affected by solar activity. The lower the sunspot count, the less likely you are to hear distant stations.

This is one man's logbook and far from complete. As services move away from shortwave, it gets that bit harder to find active frequencies.

We would love to hear about your radio listening, so get in touch with us.
