Celebrities, athletes, politicians, influencers and even royalty can all land in the firing line. Why does it matter? Because we invest in them. We give them space in our homes, our budgets, our feeds, and sometimes, our hearts. We put them on pedestals. So when they fall, we want the truth. But in an age of AI-generated "evidence", misinformation, and unqualified newsfluencers, separating fact from fiction is a full-time job. Hot on the heels of covering the Diddy trial, Anoushka Mutanda-Dougherty is up for the challenge. Each week on Fame Under Fire, she'll take a detailed look at the topics dominating the headlines. With the help of expert guests, she'll myth bust, debunk, pre-bunk, fact check and get to the truth behind the timeline. Got questions? We've got answers. Subscribe to Fame Under Fire on BBC Sounds and turn on push notifications so you never miss an episode. We'll let you know as soon as new episodes are available.

Found in China as a newborn and adopted by a white British family 13 months later, Eva grew up in Essex feeling British. But that's not always how other people perceived her. Worse, they don’t even recognise it for what it is: stalking. Hannah doesn’t know for sure who is behind it all, but she suspects an older man she met more than two years earlier at London Fashion Week. Initially, he claimed to have been hacked. Even today, he disputes stalking her. To make sense of what’s happening Hannah turns to a woman she’s known since she was seven years-old, and who also happens to be an investigative journalist. Together with her “ex-step mum” Carole Cadwalladr, they set out to piece together something the police couldn’t: the true identity of Hannah’s stalker. Doing so means untangling a web of deception spanning continents. On her suspected stalker’s trail, Hannah realises nothing about them is as she first thought.

Why did the coverage of Meghan Markle turn so sour, so quickly? Why is Prince Harry taking on the press? Allegations of sexism, racism and strategic leaks – we examine them all. Why do you think what you think about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle? Why did the coverage of Meghan Markle turn so sour, so quickly? Why did the story turn from the fairy tale wedding of a Prince and his new type of Princess, to a tale of so-called ‘duelling duchesses’? In this series, you’ll hear from the people who wrote this very modern drama: the reporters, columnists and broadcasters who shape public opinion on royalty. Allegations of sexism, racism, strategic leaks – we examine them all. When Harry and Meghan announced they were stepping down as senior members of the Royal Family, they said it was partly in order to have a new relationship with the press. They made clear that sexism and racism in the media coverage also played a role. Now Prince Harry is taking on the press in the courts too, he’s suing two of Britain’s newspaper groups, alleging unlawful information gathering and a breach of privacy. Meghan Markle’s privacy claim against the Mail on Sunday is still making headlines. These law suits could end up with some of the biggest trials of our age and could significantly change the media landscape. How did we get here and what does it tells us about Britain today?

Catriona Morton talks to fellow survivors of sexual assault and abuse about what happened to them and how they cope now. After experiencing sexual abuse and assault herself, Catriona felt like she was abandoned by society, “stranded in an ocean,” she says, "with only a life raft and no rescue in sight.” So she created her own life raft with a blog called Life Continues After, where anyone affected by sexual trauma can share their stories and advice in the hope that others will find something useful. Or even just some comfort in knowing they’re not alone. This podcast continues Catriona’s mission. Each person’s story will be split into two parts - and two separate episodes in the podcast feed. In the first part – called ‘Then’ – survivors will tell Catriona as much or as a little as they want about what happened to them. If listeners feel this part of their story might be too triggering and distressing, they can skip to the second part – called ‘Now’ – where survivors will share the practical steps, resources and methods they follow. If you've been affected by sexual abuse or violence, you can find details of organisations in the UK who offer help and support at bbc.co.uk/actionline.
